Works of 2008 PDF Print E-mail

A friend mentioned that to her some my work has 'space theme'.

I can see why she might think there's a space theme in my work but really there isn't any. It's only a mental connection that we make because of how we are conditioned to interpret images. The 'space-y' feel comes from what we are used to from sci-fi movies. In actuality my images are more urban than space-y. They are simply photographs of our environment that are manipulated in such a way that they enfold and spiral into themselves going from what might be termed an urban pastoral setting and moving through a claustrophobic enfolding and finally to a sublime elegant abstract. I have not mentioned that there are a number of images in a series; the original, the enfolded and the abstract. All essentially are the same - in-fact are the same with the exception and discernment of an entirely different point of view. The same but not the same.

If you would like to purchase a printed image please contact me.
